Last year, a friend of mine sent me pictures of a project he fiddled with creating a homemade portable smoker to take camping or out for picnics. Well, a year later, he is entering his first non-sanctioned BBQ cook off this upcoming weekend. So, in honor of his first foray into competition BBQ, here is a look back down memory lane. That was an interesting smoker. Did the red color hold up after use? We made a grill out of a Safeway cart once.
